PhD in Pure Mathematics
Born in Kakamega county, I was educated at Ekatsombero primary school, Kakamega high school and attended Egerton University for my bachelor’s studies for which I graduated in 2007. From 2008 t0 2010, I studied for my Master’s at Maseno university for which I worked under Dr. David Starn and Prof. John Ogonji.
From 2012 – 2018 I studied for my PhD at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Campus. There I worked under Prof. Kenneth Batty Stolarsky and my thesis was titled “Chebyshev-like polynomials, Conic distribution of roots and continued fractions”. I also worked under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Carpenter at NetMath, an eLearning program for mathematics at the University of Illinois. Under his supervision, I learned how to use Mathable to author maths questions for the NetMath question bank.
From 2018 till present I work at Maseno university in the School of Mathematics. I have a keen interest in improving the way Mathematics is taught and learned at undergraduate level. Currently we are exploring the use
